Message PCA Cimmaron Region had their annual Mayfast event this past weekend at Hallett, OK. A few of us made the annual trek up there to join in. Big thanks to them for putting on the event.

Dallas DamonZ, BadKitty Z, AliaZ, and myself went up Friday in order to participate in the Saturday festivities. Unfortunately it rained ... all damned day. We got one run in, and basically sat around shooting the breeze for the better part of the day. Really a bummer. Went to dinner that night at Rib Crib, where the best part of the meal was the Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae. Yum.

During lunch on Saturday, I got a phone call from Tu ("Be seein you" fame). "Are they allowing signups for Sunday?" Yep. "OK". We get to the track Sunday morning to find the big-bird yellow NA sitting there, and up pops the shit-eating grin of Tu from one of the wheels he was changing. He had flown into Dallas from Atlanta Saturday afternoon, hopped in his car, and drove up that night. Hardcore, Dave :)

Sunday proved to be much better running than Saturday. A bit of moisture early in the morning, so I ran my street tires for the first session. Once the track started to dry up, I was able to switch to my Avon Tech R's (275/40-17 all around), and really get going. I really am in love with these tires. Absolutely awesome grip, and very very predictable at the limits. Very well balanced. I am extremely happy with the setup.

AliaZ and Tu were in the White (#3) group, which was the intermediate group. AliaZ was only there because we were sharing my car, and I was already in Yellow (#2). He had a minor issue which prevented him from bringing his Z this weekend. He was really tearing up that class. It was pretty apparent he was the fastest one in the group. Both of us were only running 12 psi, btw. Tu was doing great. I don't think he got passed by much at all. I think it's time for the "Tu needs a TT swap" campaign. His driving has taken him to run groups where he is starting to get overpowered by other cars. He's really making great progress.

Damon and I were in the Yellow group, which was the 2nd to top class. Later in the day, they combined the Red (#1) and Yellow groups into one due to people going home. Damon was unveiling Z-Lab for the first time. I think it only had 14 miles on it before he took it out on the track. By all accounts, it did fantastic. Ran like a champ, and only a couple minor issues that will be sorted out in no time. All in all, I think his project is a resounding success. He just needs to get Dupree :)

I was proud to say I was only passed by two cars at speed. One, a beautiful C5 Z06 with an awesome driver, and a Porsche GT2. Both of those guys were unbeatable out there, so I had no problem giving them the wave by.

In one session, I got to play with a pair of older Carreras and a Ferrari 348. The P cars were in front of me, lifting their inside front wheels in the turns. That was a hoot to watch. Once I got by them, I was able to leave all 3 cars behind. Good times.

All in all, the weekend was fun. It was a bummer to lose an entire day of track time, but them's the breaks sometimes. We got a ton of track time on Sunday to make up for it. Happy to say my car held up pretty well under all the abuse of pulling double duty. :)

I can't wait for Zcon in 3 weeks, and getting to run with a bunch of you tardos at MSR.

On with the pics. We don't have as many as last year, a last year my Dad was able to come out and he did nothing but take pics. This year, all of us were driving, so we got pics in when we could. Here is what AliaZ and I were able to get:
